UPPER ELEMENTARY GUIDE:

Kandice Cook was born and raised in LaGrange, and now resides in Franklin, GA. She was homeschooled for most of her childhood and it was through that experience that she was first introduced to non-traditional education and its benefits. Her Montessori journey began in 2012 with the Inaugural class of Hillside Montessori. Over the years, she has been an assistant, an elementary history specialist, a lower elementary guide, an upper elementary guide, and an adolescent English and history specialist. She has been in a variety of Montessori communities, and still learns something new each and everyday in the environment.

Prior to being a Montessori guide, she served as a farm manager for a small organic farm. Kandice holds her American Montessori Society (AMS) credential in Elementary I-II (1st-6th), her North American Montessori Center (NAMC) credential in Upper Elementary, her Master’s of Arts in Teaching:Elementary Education, and her Bachelor’s in Interdisciplinary Studies, as well as a dyslexia endorsement teaching certificate.

When not in the upper elementary community, Kandice enjoys spending time with her three daughters, Relia, Haddie, and Ollie, gardening, canning, reading, and enjoying the beautiful view from her front porch.
