Hillside Montessori is a dynamic learning community where each individual is valued and respected. We welcome life-long learners who are interested in personal and professional growth.

Our teachers come from a wide variety of backgrounds as History, Engineering, English, Science, Psychology and Art majors just to name a few. Many of them came to education after being introduced to Montessori and deciding to make a career change.

In addition to classroom Montessori teachers, we offer part-time positions to Art, Music, Foreign Language, and Theater instructors as well as individuals in specialized fields such as woodworking or creative writing.

We have part-time positions in our early stay and extended day programs as well.

Qualifications

All positions require a satisfactory comprehensive background check through DECAL.

Lead Classroom Guides

• Montessori diploma for the appropriate age group and/or Bachelor’s degree and ability to begin Montessori certification program
• Love for learning and desire to grow personally and professionally
• Experience working with children
• Patience and respect for children
• Understanding of Montessori philosophy and practice
• Effective communication skills
• Intentional focus on solutions with a growth mindset
• Professional and punctual
• Well-developed interpersonal skills are necessary as teachers interact with children, parents, and colleagues.

Assistant Classroom Guides

• Preferred but not required: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree
• Interest in and availability for professional development pertinent to the position
• Love for learning and desire to grow personally and professionally
• Experience working with children
• Patience and respect for children
• Dedicated time for learning about Montessori philosophy and practice
• Effective communication skills
• Professional and punctual

Part-time Specialty Instructors

Background/ Degree in the following areas:
