Angela Barnett is a retired teacher. She taught elementary school in the Troup County School System for 30 years. During her time with TCSS she taught students in grades K-5 at four elementary schools.

Prior to teaching she worked in private industry as both a management and technical trainer for 3 years. Angela received her Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications from Auburn University in 1984 and her Master of Arts in Management Communications in 1986. She also received a Masters in Education from Columbus State University in 1992. She is certified in Early Childhood Education Pre-K-5, Middle Grades Language Arts and Social Studies 4-8, and has a Reading Specialist Endorsement.

Angela is a member of New Community Church, where she serves actively and is a member of the Elder Board. She is also a member of the Diverse Power Foundation Board. Angela is married to Louis Barnett, Jr. and they have four children; Adam, Ethan, Emily, and Patrick. They have one granddaughter, Sophie Marie.
